Salsa+Bachata Musicality (musicality–music interpretation), instrumental bootcamp for beginners/advanced dancers!

Welcome! You are in the right place, because an event like this is not often available in Hungary. A residential, ‘quasi-spiritual’, instrumental and musical, development-focused training camp for dancers and those with little experience! We invite you to a minimum of 4x2-hour sessions, a real treat for those who have long wanted to get to know INSTRUMENTAL! salsa/bachata music (and thus dance with an educated ear and confidence), and/or would like to get behind the scenes of bands and discover why each thing happens in a particular composition; our aim is therefore to grow richer rhythmically and musically, while becoming more confident as dancers! And to spend this time in a cheerful, curious community. A Latin band composition, with as many as 18-20 band members and sometimes 10-12 different instruments, can be quite complex, which may seem like a lot at first – not only for a beginner. Working through examples, we build up from the fundamentals of musical structure towards denser and more complex Timba/Bachata, highlighting and practising the most important instrumental rhythms that can serve as support for a dancer: contrabajo/bass, claves, congas, bongo, guiro/guira, maracas, campana Bootcamp/Training camp topics (approx. 50-50% theoretical and practical training): -instrument history and function -rhythm interpretation, personal development through instruments -mapping songs/genre characteristics (what/which I dance to) -structure of compositions, song interpretation (how I dance) -discovering/interpreting/using tiempo-contratiempo -and transferring all of this into practice/dance training DATE: 2026.
